  1. monitoring Oct 21, 2026, 07:40 AM UTC

We have identified the cause of intermittent errors affecting onchain data: REST API: /onchain endpoints may return 500 errors. WebSocket: the OnchainSimpleTokenPrice, OnchainTrade and OnchainOHLCV channels may experience delayed or missing updates. Our team is actively working on a fix. All other endpoints and the CGSimplePrice channel remain operational. We will provide an update once the fix is in place.

This incident has been resolved. Summary: Some requests to the /onchain endpoints returned 500 errors, and the OnchainSimpleTokenPrice, OnchainTrade and OnchainOHLCV WebSocket channels experienced delayed or missing updates. Root cause: A planned infrastructure maintenance on an upstream data service caused intermittent connection failures. Resolution: The affected services were updated and restarted, and error rates have returned to normal. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. If you continue to experience issues, please reach out to our support.

Minor January 14, 2026 CoinGecko Pro API - Intermittent Issues 2h 28m CoinGecko Pro API

Started Jan 14, 2026, 07:22 AM UTC· resolved Jan 14, 2026, 09:50 AM UTC

  1. investigating Jan 14, 2026, 07:22 AM UTC

We are currently experiencing intermittent issues with the CoinGecko Pro API. Some requests may result in slower response times or occasional timeout errors. Our team is actively investigating and working to resolve this as quickly as possible. We will provide updates as more information becomes available. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

  2. monitoring Jan 14, 2026, 08:13 AM UTC

A fix has been implemented and we are seeing recovery across all CoinGecko Pro API endpoints. We are currently monitoring the results to ensure stability remains consistent. We will provide a final update once we are confident the issue is fully resolved.

  3. resolved Jan 14, 2026, 09:50 AM UTC

We are pleased to confirm that the intermittent issues affecting the CoinGecko Pro API have been fully resolved since 08:13 UTC. Our investigation identified the root cause as table bloat specifically within our On-chain data tables. While the issue originated in the On-chain infrastructure, it temporarily impacted broader API performance. To resolve this, we have released a fix to address the concurrency conflicts and high update volumes observed during the incident. Additionally, we have implemented improvements to our traffic routing to better isolate On-chain workloads. This measure ensures that heavy load on these specific resources will not impact the stability of other API endpoints moving forward. Monitoring confirms that API response times have returned to normal levels. Thank you for your patience. For feedback and other questions, please contact [email protected] or reach out to your CoinGecko API account team.

  1. investigating Apr 22, 2025, 08:00 PM UTC

We are currently experiencing intermittent issues affecting data availability across several parts of our services. This is due to an issue with one of our third-party service providers responsible for real-time data processing. Impact: OHLC and MarketChart range data are unavailable. /api/v3/coins/:id/ohlc /api/v3/coins/:id/ohlc/range /api/v3/coins/:id/market_chart (with interval=5m) /api/v3/coins/:id/market_chart/range (with interval=5m) Our team is actively investigating the root cause and working to restore full functionality as soon as possible. We will provide updates as soon as more information is available. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to restore full service.

  2. resolved Apr 23, 2025, 01:12 AM UTC

The issue has been resolved and data services are now operating normally. However, data between 2025-04-22 20:00:00 UTC and 2025-04-23 01:00:00 UTC may still be incomplete due to the earlier disruption. Our team is currently working on backfilling the affected data to ensure accuracy. The issue stemmed from one of our service providers failing to write new data during the incident time as a result of a failed upgrade on their platform. A post-mortem will be scheduled. Impact: Live data is now fully available. Backfilling of OHLC and MarketChart range data is in progress. /api/v3/coins/:id/ohlc /api/v3/coins/:id/ohlc/range /api/v3/coins/:id/market_chart (with interval=5m) /api/v3/coins/:id/market_chart/range (with interval=5m) For feedback and other questions, please contact [email protected] or reach out to your CoinGecko API account team.

All services and data, including historical OHLC and MarketChart range, are now fully restored and accurate. Impact: Live and historical data are fully available across all endpoints. /api/v3/coins/:id/ohlc /api/v3/coins/:id/ohlc/range /api/v3/coins/:id/market_chart (with interval=5m) /api/v3/coins/:id/market_chart/range (with interval=5m) We appreciate your patience during this incident.
